Communication and knowledge sharing
Project achievements will be compiled and advertised as they are produced. A communication plan is currently being set up, and knowledge will be exchanged with other countries to increase experience in integrated ocean management in the sub region and other regions.
Monitoring
The project team, with the support from the Steering Committee, will ensure that allocated resources are spent to produce the expected outputs. The frequency of project appraisal meetings will be increased during the first six months of project implementation to ensure a good start and to overcome the problems inherent in this phase of the project cycle. Team meetings will be held every three months and reports will document the process. A semi-annual technical and financial report will also be produced to consolidate the outputs.
Funding
The pilot project is funded by the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Building and Nuclear Safety (BMU) through the Mami Wata project´s support to the Abidjan Convention, and to the Government of Côte d’Ivoire.

The Ivorian Anti-Pollution Center (CIAPOL), a structure under the Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development, and the Abidjan Convention, organized from October 25-27 2021 at the Regional Episcopal Conference of West Africa (CERAO) a workshop for the pre-validation of the report on the marine spatial plan of Grand-Bassam.
Finalizing the draft report on the Marine Spatial Planning (MSP) of Grand-Bassam, Côte d’Ivoire, was the objective of the workshop that brought together the 10 members of the MSP scientific team from September 27 to October 2. 2021 in Bonoua.
