Marine area of the mouth of the Aby lagoon (Ivory Coast, West Africa)
The object of this study is the identification and description of the marine area of the mouth of the Aby lagoon as a new marine area of ecological and biological importance (Zieb) to be subject to the Convention on biological diversity (CDB).
It is a work of bibliographic synthesis and enrichment of a form provided for this purpose by the CDB. Côte d’Ivoire has a “eight” marine area located in the Assinie Marine region in the South East area.
It covers an area of 1450 ha and groups the islands Ehotilated (550 ha), the assinia canal and the mouth of the Aby-Tendo-Ehy lagoon complex (300 ha) and the waters Coastal navies adjoining the mouth (600 ha).
